Marfa’ has finally reopened with a group show titled Water. This show is our contribution to Galleries Curate: RHE, the first chapter of a collaborative exhibition and online platform reuniting 21 galleries from across the globe.
Water brings together a group of artists from the gallery around a universal and unifying subject. Through water, we are all connected, physically as well as metaphorically.This show features a wide range of media including film, photography, painting, sculpture and multi-sensory installation. Each artist represents this theme through their unique standpoint; bringing forth the poetic, the scientific, the political, the social and the overall versatile nature of water.
We are going through deeply unsettling times in Lebanon, where the compounding crises have blocked our horizons and hopes for the future. And it is not in spite of the circumstances, but rather with them in mind, that we have decided to reopen, to work as best as we know how, at what we know best, in a neighbourhood that was destroyed but is still home to all Marfa’s artists.
