GLASSTRESS 2026: contemporary glass back in the spotlight between Venice and Murano

Family of Tears (2026) | Raed Yassin participates in Glasstress 2026, curated by Adriano Berengo, Joanna De Vos, and Umberto Croppi running from 12 July to 22 November across Palazzo Ca’ Tron in Venice and Fondazione Berengo Art Space in Murano.

In ‘Family of Tears’ (2026), disembodied eyes release cascades of vividly coloured glass tears, forming an eerie family portrait. The eye acquires a body through what it produces: the tear itself becomes the figure.

Founded in 2009, Glasstress brings together diverse contemporary practices through glass as a common protagonist, with works developed in collaboration with Murano’s master glassmakers.
